Running Sneakers
TIPS FOR BUYING RUNNING SHOES OR RUNNING SHOES
Things to consider.
THE SIZE OF THE RUNNING SHOE OR RUNNING SHOE
HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT SIZE?
Basically, unlike a normal street sneaker, the foot should have a little more space on a running sneaker. There must not be too much play, though. As an orientation when choosing the size:
Half a centimeter of space for normal corridors
A centimetre more space for cross-country skiers
THE RIGHT FIT OF RUNNING SHOES
HOW DO I DETERMINE THAT THE SHOE FITS MY FOOT PERFECTLY? HOW DO I ENSURE GOOD STABILITY?
The fit of the slipper to run is as important as the right size. Here applies the following:
The shoe may have a little more width space on the front of the foot ball.
From the cord to the heel, the shoe must be adjusted and offer maximum stability. But you shouldn't press.
In most cases, it makes sense to tie to the last eye to increase stability. Some models also offer a last offset eyelet for this purpose, which provides even more support to the heel thanks to the marathon cord. But: Don't tie it too hard! Otherwise, the foot can fall asleep.
LONGEVITY OF SOME RUNNING SHOES
HOW MUCH DO THE RUNNING SHOES LAST?
You must change your running shoes after approximately 1,000 kilometers. Anyone who cuts distances of around eight to ten kilometres two or three times a week must change their running shoes after about a year. For longer distances per week, the slippers must be replaced before. Tip: With new sneakers, configure your physical activity tracker to record the distance traveled by the sneakers.
WHEN I SHOULD BUY NEW RUNNING SHOES? HOW CAN OLD SHOES HELP ME WITH THIS ASSESSMENT?
An important indicator of whether a running shoe should be refreshed is the wear of the sole and the extent to which the profile has already worn off. Wear and tear on the outside of the heel in particular provides information about it, as the runninh slipper has frequent and strong contact with the ground at this point.
RUNNING SHOES MATERIAL
WHAT DO I HAVE TO WATCH ABOUT THE MATERIAL?
All manufacturers use high quality materials today, so there are virtually no quality differences among the best brands.
If you don't mind walking in the rain or snow in winter, be sure to wear waterproof sneakers. These sneakers are marked accordingly in our store.
A higher sole also reduces water input when stepping on puddles.
Models with warm polar lining or Gore-Tex membrane are recommended for the colder months.
CUSHIONING RUNNING SHOES
WHAT DO I NEED TO CONSIDER WITH DAMPING?
In principle, a distinction can be made between harder and softer damping. Choosing the right damping is a matter of tastes, you can't give a general recommendation. The clues to the choice can be:
Beginners and runners who want to reduce weight can choose a softer cushioning to not put too much pressure on the skeletal muscle system.
Advanced brokers can choose a firmer buffer that has better repulsion.
By the way: proper running socks also protect the foot with proper padding in important areas. In this way, running socks improve the fit in the slipper and prevent the appearance of irritations and blisters.
TAKING CARE OF RUNNING SHOES
CAN YOU WASH YOUR RUNNING SHOES IN THE WASHING MACHINE?
NO. The detergent washes the plasticizers from the damping material and destroys the damping. Also, running sneakers are stuck in many places, which can cause the glue to drop loose. However, the templates can be cleaned in the washing machine.
DO I NEED SPECIAL CARE PRODUCTS FOR RUNNING SHOES?
Care with special agents or soap is not necessary for running shoes. In case of a lot of dirt, simply rub the shoes with a thin brush in warm water.
HOW DO I DRY THE RUNNING SHOES?
Running shoes should only be air-dried. Under no circumstances should they be thrown into the dryer or placed near the oven or heater, otherwise the rubber can become porous!
SECOND RUNNING SHOE
WHAT IS A SECOND RUNNING SHOES AND WHY DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO BUY IT?
To reduce the wear and tear of your running shoes and the risk of injury, it makes sense to buy a second pair of running shoes. It's worth buying a second pair when the previous pair have toured about 500 kilometres, which is roughly half their shelf life. The reasons for a second pair of sneakers are:
The damping material should be regenerated up to 48 hours after each use. Constantly changing between two different pairs of shoes minimizes the risk of injury.
Running wet shoes must be dry enough before the next race. A second pair of sneakers can be used the next day.
The combination of a normal slipper with a lightweight slipper (natural running) creates new training stimuli. However, just use the natural running slipper for short distances.
Have a good day Running!
